Coworking on a Map

What do Houstonians want in a coworking space?

Allen Stern of CenterNetworks thoughts has me thinking…

What do Houstonians want/need in order to embrace the coworkinc concept and join a soon to be formed coworking space here in Houston?

Location? Price? Hours? Amenities?

What is coworking?

While not exactly fresh off the press, this is one of the best articles, Where the Coffee Shop Meets the Cubicle, on coworking, thanks to Kerry Miller.

And a great video thanks to Jay Dedman and Ryan Hodson of the Hat Factory. Let’s Get This Party (Coworking in Houston) Started

Having just moved to Houston a few weeks ago, being an entrepreneur and struggling to find a decent office space/place to work (excluding my living room/dining room, Starbucks, overpriced executive suites, etc.) outside of my home, for a reasonable price, it’s time to take things into my own hands. I’m going to spearhead the effort to make coworking in Houston a reality. There’s been some recent, as well as dated, activity on the Google coworking group as well as the Houston Coworking wiki but it appears that so far it looks like it’s been all talk but very little action. I’m (we’re) going to change that, sooner rather than later. Stay tuned…

Work in Progress

Work in progress, in the meantime check out the recent press and blogs on coworking…
